Colin,
We are a syndicate who owns a 1988 Riviera 35’ cruiser
fitted with twin 210HP Cummins turbo charged diesel
engines.
The boat was recently slipped at Bradford Marine
of Hope Harbor because performance had deteriorated
to a maximum speed of 15 knots at 2450 RPM.
It was decided to accept Performance Propellers
free offer to evaluate the propellers. The port propeller showed a slight
blade distortion, which was not visible, but showed
on the propeller scan.
Both propellers were fine tuned with Prop Scan
and the pitch was reduced by ½" to
19" by
Performance Propellers, who also provided Propeller
Scans for our records. The hull, rudders, shafts
and trim tabs were cleaned and anti-fouled. Normal
100 hour service was carried out on the engine
and ancillary equipment.
The boat was returned to the water, where sea
trials produced a maximum speed of 20.2 knots at
2750 RPM.
Naturally, we are very pleased with the improved
performance of our boat and are happy to recommend
Performance Propellers for their professional approach
and attention to detail.
